A cracked or worn pulley can put the whole machine out of action even when the engine is fine. This section has twin-groove Grünwelt pulleys for engines in two-wheel tractors and compact tractors. According to the manufacturer they are made of cast iron that withstands the shock loads of starting.
How to choose a pulley
- Shaft diameter. The GW-DP19 fits a 19 mm shaft, the GW-DP20 a 20 mm shaft. Measure the shaft with a caliper. If your engine has a 19.05 mm (3/4 in) shaft, ask us about fit before ordering.
- Belt type. Both take a B-section V-belt (17 mm). Two grooves let you run two belts, or keep one groove spare if the machine uses a single belt.
- Outside diameter. 76 mm. Compare it with the old pulley, because the diameter sets the drive ratio and working speed of the machine.

Replacing it step by step
Remove the belt, loosen the retaining bolt and slide the old pulley off the shaft. Clean the shaft and keyway, fit the new pulley, tighten the bolt and set the belt tension so the belt does not slip under load. If the pulley was worn, check the belt too, since worn grooves damage it quickly.

What is the difference between the GW-DP19 and GW-DP20?
Only the bore: 19 mm or 20 mm. Everything else is the same: two grooves, B-section belt, 76 mm outside diameter.
How do I know the pulley needs replacing?
Cracks, worn or chipped grooves, play on the shaft and fast belt wear are the usual signs.
Do I need a workshop to replace it?
Usually basic tools are enough: a spanner for the retaining bolt and perhaps a puller if the pulley has seized on the shaft.
