A dumper (mini dumper, power barrow) carries soil, gravel, stones, rubble, firewood or manure where a wheelbarrow is too small and a tractor will not fit. The skip tips hydraulically, so there is no unloading by hand. This section covers Jansen RD petrol tracked dumpers, the MSK-500 and MSK-800X electric power barrows, and bodies, extensions and snow blades for these machines.
How to choose a dumper
- Payload: the RD-200, RD-300 and RD-500 carry up to 500 kg on level ground, the RD-600 up to 600 kg, and the RD-800pro and RD-1000 up to 1000 kg. Payload drops on slopes: on a 30% incline the RD-200 carries about 375 kg.
- Drive: a gearbox (RD-200, RD-300, RD-800) is simple to operate. Hydrostatic drive (RD-500, RD-600, RD-1000) gives smooth speed control and makes tight manoeuvres easier.
- Tipping: as standard the skip tips forward by more than 90°. A high-tip system (RD-300pro, RD-300proS, RD-800pro) lets you empty into a skip bin or trailer. The RD-1000 tips to three sides.
- Self-loading bucket: models with an S (RD-300S, RD-300proS, RD-600S) scoop material from a pile themselves, no shovel needed.
- Petrol or battery: MSK electric models are quiet and emission-free, so they suit stables, barns and greenhouses. RD petrol models run longer without a break and handle rougher ground.

The RD-800 and RD-800pro have a flat bed with sides that fold down or come off completely, leaving room for a 1200 × 800 mm Euro pallet.
MSK electric power barrows
The MSK-500 has a 1000 W brushless motor and four 12 V 32 Ah batteries. Jansen quotes about 8–10 hours of work per charge and 6–7 hours to recharge. The MSK-800X has two 800 W motors, four-wheel drive, articulated steering and four hydraulic disc brakes. At about 72 cm wide it fits through a standard door. The MSK-800X batteries must be fully charged before the first use.
Bodies and accessories
- For the RD-200, RD-300 and RD-500: skip extension, flat bed with sides and a stake rack for long loads.
- For the MSK-500: flat body, flat platform, skip extension and a stake rack (500 kg payload).
- For the MSK-800X: skip extension and a ball hitch for a small trailer.

Delivery and first start-up
Jansen dumpers arrive on a wooden pallet or in a steel frame, partly assembled. Jansen allows about 45 minutes to prepare the RD-200 and about 30 minutes for the RD-1000. Before the first start, check and top up the engine oil (10W40 or 15W40) and HLP46 hydraulic oil. A common mistake is driving across a steep slope with a full skip: on an incline, drive straight up or down and reduce the load. A mini excavator or compact loader fills the skip quickly.
Frequently asked questions
Tracks or wheels?
RD tracks grip better in mud, sand and on steep ramps. The MSK-500 wheels are handy on firm paths, in stables and on a yard.
Which model can empty into a trailer?
A high-tip model: the RD-300pro or RD-300proS (up to 142 cm), or the RD-800pro for heavier loads.
What does a self-loading bucket do?
On the RD-300S, RD-300proS and RD-600S the skip works like a bucket: drive up to the pile and scoop the material hydraulically, no shovel needed.
Is an electric dumper suitable for a stable?
Yes. The MSK produces no exhaust and runs quietly, so it does not unsettle animals and can work indoors.
