The factory rubber wheels of a two-wheel tractor work well on grass and firm tracks, but start to slip when ploughing wet, heavy soil. This section has everything that changes how the tractor behaves in the field: steel wheels with lugs, spare rubber wheels, hubs (half-axles) for fitting wheels to the shaft, DIFF adapters for easier turning and weights for better traction.
How to choose wheels and hubs
- Type of work: for ploughing, ridging and soft soil choose steel wheels; for hauling a trailer and driving on firm ground choose rubber wheels.
- Wheel diameter: a bigger wheel crosses furrows more easily and lifts the frame. According to the product pages, Grünwelt GW-ER340, GW-ER380 and GW-ER430 fit WEIMA WM500, WM900M-3, WM1000N and WM1100; GW-ER520 fits WM900M-3, WM1000N-6 and WM1100-6; the largest GW-ER600 fits only WM1000N-6 and WM1100-6.
- Tractor shaft: Grünwelt GW-AX hubs slide onto the hexagonal shaft. There are two sizes, 24 mm and 32 mm. Measure your shaft before buying.
- Hub length: a longer hub gives a wider track and a steadier tractor; a shorter one makes manoeuvring in narrow rows easier.
- Bolt pattern: wheels, hubs, the DIFF adapter and RURIS CG weights in this section use a 4 × 110 mm pattern. Check that your tractor matches.

What the DIFF adapter does
Standard hubs lock both wheels rigidly to the gearbox, so the tractor resists turning. The DIFF adapter turns the hub into a free-wheeling one: the wheel can rotate relative to the shaft and the tractor turns more easily. It also widens the track by 12 cm, 6 cm each side. The RURIS EasyTurn CRT280 shaft does a similar job by letting the wheel make one free revolution when turning.
Common mistakes
- Ordering a hub without measuring the shaft: 24 and 32 mm are not interchangeable.
- Steel wheels too small for heavy ploughing: the tractor digs in and the frame drags on the ground.
- Driving on steel wheels over tarmac or paving: the lugs damage the surface and wear quickly.
For ploughing you will also need a plough from soil tillage. How to pick the tractor itself is explained in our buying guide. Courier delivery across Poland, free from 999 zł (39 zł below); other EU countries on request. 14-day returns, 24-month warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Which steel wheels fit a WEIMA WM1100?
According to the product pages, all GW-ER wheels fit the WM1100 series. For heavy soil choose the larger GW-ER520 or GW-ER600 (for the WM1100-6 version).
How do I know which hub fits?
Measure the hexagonal shaft (24 or 32 mm) and choose the length for the track width you need. The hub bolt pattern is 4 × 110 mm.
Will the rubber wheels fit other machines?
The pages confirm WEIMA WM500, WM1000N-6 and WM1100-6. For other machines compare the 4 × 110 mm pattern and the centre bore (70 or 90 mm).
Why add weights if I have steel wheels?
On very heavy or wet soil the tractor can still slip. RURIS CG weights add load to the wheels and improve pulling power with a plough.
Does the DIFF adapter fit any tractor?
According to its product page it fits tractors and tillers with a 4 × 110 mm hub pattern, measured diagonally from hole centre to hole centre.
