Petrol or diesel engine?

Petrol engines are generally lighter, easier to start and widely used for intermittent work. Diesel engines are often selected for heavier machines and longer operating periods when high torque and fuel efficiency are important. The engine type must match the machine specification.

• recoil or electric starting;
• reduction gearbox or direct drive;
• engine dimensions and weight.
