Loncin two-wheel tractors for gardens and small farms
A Loncin two-wheel tractor is a petrol walk-behind machine with tiller tines for loosening soil. Fitted with passive implements, it can also plough, ridge rows and pull a light trailer. This section has three models: LC750, LC850 and LC1200. All of them have an air-cooled four-stroke Loncin OHV engine, a gearbox with 2 forward and 1 reverse gear, and a recoil starter.
How to choose a Loncin model
- Working width. The LC750 tills a strip of 550–800 mm, the LC850 550–1000 mm and the LC1200 800–1100 mm. A narrow setting suits work between rows, a wide one suits open beds.
- Power and weight. 6.5 HP and 69 kg on the LC750, 7 HP and 71 kg on the LC850, 8.5 HP and 96 kg on the LC1200. A heavier machine bounces less on compacted or clay soil.
- Wheels. The LC750 runs on 3.50–6" wheels, the LC850 and LC1200 on larger 4.00–8" wheels that are easier to drive around the plot.
- No PTO. None of these models has a power take-off shaft, so a rotary mower or a powered tiller cannot be connected. If you need those, see the sets with active attachments.
Model comparison
| Model | Engine | Power | Working width | Depth | Tines | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Loncin LC750 | G200F, 196 cc | 6.5 HP | 550–800 mm | up to 180 mm | 4 × (2+1) | 69 kg |
| Loncin LC850 | LC170F, 212 cc | 7 HP | 550–1000 mm | up to 180 mm | 4 × (2+1) | 71 kg |
| Loncin LC1200 | LC175F, 252 cc | 8.5 HP | 800–1100 mm | up to 180 mm | 4 × (3+1) | 96 kg |
In short: the LC750 for a small garden and vegetable beds, the LC850 for a plot where a wider tine setting helps, the LC1200 for a larger area and heavier soil.
Before the first start
Loncin tractors are shipped without engine oil and gear oil. Fill both according to the manual before starting: 0.6 l of engine oil (LC750, LC850) or 0.7 l (LC1200), and 1.25 l, 2 l or 2.3 l of gear oil depending on the model. Running the machine dry damages the engine and the gearbox. Avoid full load during the first hours. Frequently asked questions
Which Loncin suits a garden of about 1,000 m²?
For light and medium soil the LC750 or LC850 is enough. The LC850 has a wider tine setting and bigger wheels, so you cover the plot faster.
Can I use a plough and a ridger with a Loncin tractor?
Yes, these machines work with passive implements such as a plough, ridger, potato digger or trailer. PTO-driven tools cannot be fitted because the models have no power take-off.
How deep does it till?
According to the manufacturer's data, all three models till to a depth of up to 180 mm.
