Water rarely ends up where you need it on its own. A motor pump moves it fast and without mains power — for irrigation, draining a flooded cellar, cleaning a tank or watering a field.
Choosing a motor pump
For clean water a standard pump is enough. Water with sand and silt needs a dirty-water pump with a larger solids clearance, and post-flood drainage calls for a trash pump. The key figures are flow rate (l/min) and head height (m).
What to check
The port diameter must match your hoses, and the engine power must suit the distance and height difference. A longer hose and greater lift cut the real flow, so allow some margin.
