WEIMA petrol engines are single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled OHV units. They are the same types that power WEIMA two-wheel tractors (the WM1100 tractor data lists WM170F, WM188F and WM190FE engines), but they also work as replacements in tillers, mowers, chippers, plate compactors and generators. WM170, WM177, WM188, WM190, WM192 – what sets them apart
- WM170F (7 hp, 212 cc) – the smallest engine of the series, 16 kg. The S and T versions have a 20 mm shaft (T is splined), the Q version 19.05 mm.
- WM177F (9 hp, 277 cc) and WM188F (13 hp, 389 cc) – intermediate outputs with a 25 mm shaft.
- WM190F/FE (16 hp, 420 cc) – torque 28.1 N·m. The letter E means recoil and electric start, T a 25 mm splined shaft.
- WM192F/FE (18 hp, 460 cc) – the largest in the series; the WM192FE data state the Euro 5 standard.

What to check before buying
Shaft and mounting
Compare the old engine's shaft diameter and length, keyway or splines, direction of rotation and mounting hole spacing. For a two-wheel tractor or a chipper a 25 mm shaft is the most common choice (WM188F–WM192FE). The WMS305 chipper, for example, uses the WM170F-S engine.
2:1 reduction
Versions with the letter L (WM170F-L, WM190FE-L, WM192FE-L) have a 2:1 reduction gear. The output shaft turns at half speed with more torque at the shaft. They are used where the machine needs slower rotation.
Electric start and charging
The FE versions have recoil and electric start. The WM192FE with start button and 20 A coil also has a charging coil and weighs 35 kg. If the engine is for a two-wheel tractor, see our guide petrol or diesel.
Fuel consumption and oil
The WM177F–WM192FE data give fuel consumption of 374 g/kWh and the WM170F 395 g/kWh. The crankcase takes 0.6 l (WM170F) or 1.1 l (WM177F–WM192FE) of oil. Check the oil level before the first start.

Will a WEIMA engine fit my two-wheel tractor of another make?

How does the WM190F differ from the WM190FE?
The engine data are the same (16 hp, 420 cc). The WM190FE also has electric start, the WM190F only recoil.
What is the splined-shaft version (T) for?
For machines whose hub or clutch has splines instead of a key. It is the same engine with a different shaft.
