Loncin makes four-stroke OHV petrol engines with air cooling, single-cylinder and twin-cylinder (V-Twin), used as drives and as replacement engines in lawn mowers, garden tractors, tillers, two-wheel tractors, generators, water pumps and plate compactors. How to choose a Loncin replacement engine
Power alone does not decide fit. Before ordering a replacement for a mower, garden tractor or another machine, compare four things with the old engine.
- Shaft diameter – the range includes 19.05, 20, 22.2, 25, 25.4 and 36.5 mm shafts. The shaft must fit your clutch, pulley or hub.
- Keyway and shaft length – the engine descriptions list a horizontal shaft with a keyway, but check the length and shape before you buy.
- Direction of rotation – for example the G270F, G390F and the V-Twins turn counter-clockwise when viewed from the PTO side.
- Mounting hole spacing and free space – engine dimensions are listed on each product page.

Which engine for what
Mowers and small machines: 4–7 hp
The LC1P65FE, LC1P75F, G200F-A and LC170F-2 have 19.05–22.2 mm shafts and weigh 9–16 kg. This is the usual size for mowers, small tillers and pumps.
Garden tractors, two-wheel tractors, generators: 9–20 hp
The G270F, G390F, G420F, LC192F and H500F have a 25 mm shaft. For two-wheel tractors choose the version that matches the drive; general engine selection rules are in our guide petrol or diesel. Sample product pages: the G390F 13 hp and the H500FD 20 hp with electric start.
Powerful machines and generators: V-Twin
The twin-cylinder LC2P77F, LC2P82FD and LC2V90FD (21.5 to 35 hp) run more smoothly than single-cylinder units; they have electric start and need a battery connected to run.
Frequently asked questions
Will a Loncin engine fit my mower or garden tractor?
It will if the shaft diameter and length, keyway, direction of rotation and mounting holes match. Compare with your old engine or send us a photo of the data plate.
What does the letter D in the model mean?
In this range the "D" in the designation (for example H500FD, LC192FD) appears on models with electric start.
Will an electric start engine run without a battery?
Single-cylinder versions with electric start also have a recoil starter. The twin-cylinder V-Twins start electrically and need a battery.
